yes, that's what i say after looking at Arsene Wenger's latest signing; Arteta, Martesacker, Park. the days where Englishmen playing for the clubs of English football is so over for Arsenal. how many Englishmen they have left? Theo Walcott and Frimpong?
The reason why Arsenal failed to win any trophy since the last 6 seasons is because of their signing, Arsene's policy of signing freshmen out of nowhere and turn them into something big. in the end the likes of Fabregas and Nasri all went out. Arsenal fans can't really argue about the training-ground-for-kids mockery because the fact is, its true. kids came in and went out. kids went in and talked of being one of the best player in football and leave. Emirates Stadium, is a training ground.
The Policy
let me take you back to Highbury, the original home ground of Arsenal Football Club. The success they had there were with some of the best players in English football. and of course, Englishmen. to all the fans who started supporting Arsenal during their invincible season may not know the likes of Ray Parlour, Micky Adams, David Seaman, Lee Dixon and of course, Ian Wright. these players are the pillar of the club success in the 90's. the likes of Thierry Henry, Frederic Ljunberg and such just made it better for them.
then the new Arsene Wenger's policy came in. signing youngsters from all part of the world. i'm not saying that Arsene Wenger is a bad motivator, a bad coach. he's far beyond that. but if he wanted to win trophy with kids, the kids needs experience too and some tutoring from the more experienced players. and that's what the Manchester United 'kids' had, experienced players among them. and of course, success, trophies.
how many englishmen first eleven are there in an Arsenal squad? three, four? Honestly, They Walcott is their best Englishmen in the squad, and of course, lately, Jack Wilshire. Arsenal need more Englishmen. because englishmen, they know their game. they know their country. its English football after all. yes it would be nice seeing Kaka playing for your beloved club, but Scott Parker is what they need. a pure hardworking box-to-box midfielder, a real captain.
The New Signings
when Fabregas and Nasri went out, Arsene Wenger need replacements. when Manchester United beats Arsenal 8-2, Arsene Wenger need to change is policy. which he did. but only one. finally he signed some experienced players.
Arteta. i don't see the point of Arsene Wenger signing the always-injured Arteta. 10 million pounds for an unfit player. yes he's a good passer of the ball. a playmaker, a spanish just like fabregas but can he play at least 29 matches a season? no.
Martesacker might be a good signing. one hell of a tall strong lad. this time they can actually defend against Rory Delap's long throws and win most of the aerial battles at the back. but who would cover the slow Martesacker? Vermaelen. pray he would be fit the whole season.
Park Chu Young. there's a reason why there are not a lot of asians playing in the English league. The best Asian player in England is none other than the Three-lungs Park Ji Sung. the climate is different the gameplay is different than other european countries such as Spain, France and Italy. the reason why Junichi Inamoto failed to impress Arsene Wenger was he could not cope with the English game. its physically harder here than in Spain and Italy. Park Chu Young needs more time to adapt the English game. but can he score against the top club? i don't think so.
Yossi Benayoun. honestly i think he's way better than Joe Cole. Ancelotti was right about that. he's hardworking, good intelligence on the pitch and a teamplayer. there is one problem though, how many times would he play in the first eleven?
Gervinho, who the hell is Gervinho?
The Right Players
i have a few players on my mind which i'm really sure can make an impact at Arsenal. but no, Arsene Wenger did not sign these bargain players.
Gary Cahill. Manchester United tried to sign this player but moved to the younger Phil Jones. Cahill is one of the best defenders in England. we couldn't see how good he is because we don't watch Bolton's game. He's quite fast and good aerial battler. and he's only 25 years old.
Ryan Shawcross. a player that came out of the Manchester United youth academy. he's the reason why Stoke City did not concede a lot of goals against the big clubs. fast and strong. but what do you expect? would Arsene Wenger sign a player who broke one of his best youngster's leg? of course not.
Scott Parker. when Birmingham beat Arsenal in the Carling Cup Final last season, Scott Parker's name was out in the news. for goodness sake, he's 30 times better than Arteta. the real captain. the one who gave the half-time team talk that made West Ham United came back from a 3 goals down at West Bromwich last season. a pure captain. Scott Parker is the captain that every club needed.
3 bargain good englishmen for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger did not sign them. Arsenal had the cash, but they did not sign Ashley Young last season. why? because he's english. i don't think Arsene Wenger will sign any englishmen, except youngster such as Alex Chamberlain.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
we have seen it with Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Spain and German. their success in the World Cup. look at what happen when fellow compatriots played everyday together. they brought it to the international level. Manchester United and Liverpool are starting to do this too. this might help my beloved England to be success at the international level. can you see this happening with Arsenal? Nay!
This is a Manchester United fan telling the Arsenal fans that Arsenal won't win anything this season.
